Artist Series/Art Gang...

A brief interview with the guy they call Nosego...

But...before the interview...I'd like to share how I came across the works of  Yis Goodwin.
As an avid Flickr user, I've come across massive amounts of original art work created by people from all walks of life. In my opinion, some of the work is very good while other pieces are not appealing to me at all. When I came across the works of an artist named "Nosego" I was immediately engaged in his art. The first things I saw were hand drawn stickers that had a crisp and fresh look to them. Second were the various paintings Nose created depicting animals, original characters, great color choices, and fuzzy shit. Its not enough that the kid has tons of talent with the paints, I was further surprised and impressed that Nose creates his own clothing too. I purchased his "Circle Bear" crew neck sweater as soon as I saw it. I knew that I wanted to work with Nose on a T-shirt for Grownkids from the first day I discovered his art and I'm very happy and proud to announce the 1st Grownkids/Nosego collaboration...

Here are the Q's and A's...

Camilla D'Errico...

Sorceress...

Ok...I had a great time at NYCC this year. It seemed as if there where twice as many people there compared to 2009. There were also WAY more people dressed up like your favorite anime character and I plan to do a full ComicCon post as soon as I find the USB for my camera. Moving on...The highlight of NYCC for me was meeting Camilla D'Errico and getting a signed print of one of her paintings...Dope. Below are some more examples of her work...

"Yutta"

"Milk Thistle Ninja Girl"

"Birds Nest"

"The Sorceress"

I'm quite sure that you're all impressed and eager to see more...Check out the rest of Camilla's work at Camillad'errico.com...

NYCC!!!

Holy Comicon!!!

This was my first year attending this event and I had a ball. Held in the Jacob Javits Center, the showroom floor was jam packed with vendors of many shapes and sizes. My must get item was the NYCC  Yoka bear from myplasticheart, grabbed one of those first, then went off into the jungle!

(NYCC Jacob Javits Center, February 7th 2009)

There were tons of really bold individuals in all sorts of costumes. My favorite character had to be "Snake Eyes" from the G.I. Joe series.

A few NYCC "exclusives" from artist Brent Nolasco

2 hours and $300.00 later, I called it a day and headed back to the 914. This experience reminded me of why I decided to start the whole GrownKids movement. There will always be that little wide-eyed kid hiding inside us all.
